When the weather's nice, what's more fun than dining al fresco? If you're looking for somewhere to enjoy the fresh air while delighting your taste buds with delectable dishes, check out three of our favorite restaurants with outdoor dining in the St. Louis area.

Russell's on Macklind

Russell's on Macklind is a neighborhood restaurant near Princeton Heights. If you're wondering where the name comes from, Russell is the chef and owner of this family-run establishment. Grab a seat out on the patio and enjoy one of their local beers on tap while you peruse the menu!

Russell's is open for brunch, lunch, and dinner, but we highly recommend a patio seat at sunset. The Macklind Burger, topped with IPA white cheddar and house catsup, is one of our favorites. They also offer small plates like the Pecan Ribs which are smothered in a sticky molasses-mustard glaze and toasted pecans.

Check out their Instagram to see some behind-the-scenes snapshots from Russell himself!

The Block Restaurant and Butcher Shop

The Block is a local favorite in the Central West End featuring a farm-fresh seasonal menu with locally sourced ingredients-so locally sourced, in fact, that they perform their own primary and secondary butchery on site so that whatever dish arrives at your table is as fresh as it gets.

They offer a full-service meat counter plus a restaurant and bar with patio seating. They try to keep wait times short, but you can secure your seat using their no-wait app. Come hungry and order the pulled pork sandwich for piles of local honey-barbecued pork topped with pepper jack cheese with fries and slaw on the side.

Visit them on Facebook for some picturesque patio photos and local STL restaurant articles.

Broadway Oyster Bar

For over 35 years, Broadway Oyster Bar has been the go-to New Orleans-style restaurant, bar, and music venue in the Midwest. It's located in an early 19th-century building that's one of the oldest buildings in the city still in daily use. It's even been said that this place is haunted by a few prankster spirits.

Hang out on one of the two outdoor patios and enjoy live music twice daily and all night long while enjoying the Lobster Po'Boy, a classic NOLA dish. This sandwich comes with fried lobster-tail meat tossed in creamy sriracha-voodoo sauce and garnished with garlic aioli, fresh arugula, and sliced tomato. The Naked Gator Tacos are another delicious option, and yes-they're made with fresh alligator-tail meat!

Follow them on Facebook to stay updated on which bands are playing every night.

Get Outside!

If you're excited to grab yourself a seat outside, check out these restaurants' menus and see which one gets your mouth watering. Then, call them up and make a reservation. They get pretty busy, so hurry up and save your seat!
